Jo Casson - Artistic Director

Jo Casson is the Artistic Director at Ding Productions, one of Australia’s leading producers of unique, creative, live entertainment. The company creates unforgettable performances and was announced as a finalist in the 2015 Australian Event Awards for 'Best Achievement in Entertainment'.

Jo has established a reputation for creating outstanding, live entertainment having produced more than 50 unique shows, boasting more than 250 live performances around Australia. This includes creating shows for major sporting events, corporate events, festivals, government agencies, charities and touring. Most notable include sell out productions at multiple Adelaide Fringe Festivals and Cabaret Fringe as well as developing corporate theatre for clients such as Cricket Australia, The International Space Industry and Microsoft.

Jo began her career as a Secondary Teacher of Drama, Geography and Tourism directing numerous musicals and productions while teaching. She gained much experience in these early years producing multiple productions as well as dancing professionally and performing with community theatre. Jo recognised her passion for events and the arts and chose to change her career joining the Senior Management Team at The Adelaide Entertainment Centre in 1999.

Jo established Ding Productions nine years ago and the company has quickly grown into one of South Australia’s leading employers of professional artists.

She is the Artistic Director for the 2018 Festival of Music, Adelaide Festival Theatre and was a creative contributor for the Adelaide Festival Christmas Proms in 2013 to 2016 working with artists such as Mitchell Butel, Chelsea Gibb, Bobby Fox and Stephen Mahy. She has also worked closely with a range of Australian icons on a variety of projects including Deni Hines, Rachael Beck, Michael Falzon, Ian Stenlake, Rob Mills, Alinta Chidzey, Doug Parkinson and Rhonda Burchmore.

Jo was selected as an adjudicator for the Wakakirri SA Finals 2018, Adelaide Entertainment Centre and was the recipient of the National Award for Outstanding Sales and Marketing Person, Meeting and Event Industry 2002.

Since 2013 she has been the Artistic Director for the NYE Stadium Spectaculars at the Adelaide Oval presented by the Adelaide Strikers. Jo also created, directed and produced “Rachael and Rhonda – The Long and Short of It” with Rachael Beck and Rhonda Burchmore, Thebarton Theatre 2017.

Laura Brougham - Associate Producer

Laura Brougham is a professional dancer, performer and choreographer. Her professional experience expands over many facets of the dance and entertainment industry including stage, TV and film.
 
Upon finishing her secondary schooling Laura moved to Melbourne to pursue dance and quickly landed a featured role in the Bollywood movie “Salaam Namaste”. Success followed when Laura auditioned for, and secured, her very first professional contract in the opening cast of Hong Kong Disneyland as “Ariel the Little Mermaid” in the stage show “The Golden Mickey’s”.
 
After returning home to Australia, Laura auditioned for the first series of Channel 10’s “So You Think You Can Dance Australia” and successfully made it to the top 20 cast. Following on from her television success, she was immediately offered work by Jason Coleman and joined his premier performing arts school and agency in Melbourne.
 
Laura made her mark in the Melbourne Commercial Dance industry and has worked for various corporate and commercial companies locally and internationally. Most notable are L’Oreal, Crown Casino, Porsche, Mercedes, Myer, Channel 10 and the AFL. Laura has also worked with the likes of Guy Sebastian and Tim Campbell, as well as dancing and modelling for leading fashion companies Cotton On, Sportsgirl, Big W, Jacqui E and Ed Hardy.
 
Since returning to Adelaide Laura has joined South Australia’s prestigious production company “Ding Productions” as Associate Producer and Resident Performer/Choreographer. Laura has worked with the Adelaide Strikers, Christmas Proms, Rob Mills, Rhonda Burchmore and Rachael Beck, as well as choreographing the Festival of Music commissioned work and performing/choreographing for the Tourism Australia Gala in Chengdu, China.
 
Laura has also adjudicated for the Wakakirri Finals SA 2017 & 2018, as well as leading the Hit 107 Beyonce Workshops 2016 & 2017.
